Core Aeration and pH control
Core Aeration

Core aeration is one of the most valuable services Lawn Control Center can provide for your turf. With this service, we’ll use an aerator to remove cores (or plugs) of soil about ½” wide and 3″ long across your whole lawn.
This will let moisture, nutrients and oxygen reach your turf’s roots more easily. Core aeration will also help to break up the thatch layer (which can block water and nutrients and provide a home for insects and disease if it gets too thick). The cores that the aerator pulls out will quickly decompose back into your yard, keeping your grass from losing nutrients and helping to break down thatch even more.
pH Control
When soil is acidic (low pH), fertilizer gets “locked up” and grass plants have trouble absorbing it. This can lead to a lawn that is thin and off-color, with too many weeds and undesirable grasses.
If a low pH condition exists in your property’s soil, Lawn Control Center can help with an application of lime. Lime will “sweeten” the soil, raising the pH to a level that encourages good grass growth and better use of fertilizer. This will result in a thicker, greener lawn with much less competition from weeds and crabgrass.
